NBC newcomer The Michael J. Fox Show is one which has been starting strongly in its first season, and it appears as though its star (who returned to regular TV acting after a lengthy hiatus) is turning up the stakes a little with the recruitment of a guest star that reuinites one of the movie industry’s best-known double acts.
The unusual pairing of Fox and Christopher Lloyd only occured in one movie franchise (Back to the Future) but their on-screen chemistry in those films was enough to make them synonymous with their characters.
However, various external issues (primarily Fox’s Parkinson’s Disease) mean that the actors have only been on-screen together once in TV, on an episode of 1990′s sitcom Spin City.
The star of the NBC show announced the upcoming reunion with Lloyd in response to a fan question on Twitter earlier this week, revealing that an episode set to air in the spring will see the latter feature as the principal of the school of ‘Mike’s teacher wife ‘Annie’ (Betsy Brandt), who instantly finds himself in conflict with the news anchor after they meet.
Joining a selection of first-season guest stars such as Brooke Shields and Sting, Christopher Lloyd’s appearance on The Michael J. Fox Show will undoubtedly be the most publicised, but will the latest of their on-screen collaborations be of similar success to previous ones?
